BPAL sniffing notes 24 - New Orleans, Athens, Blood Amber, Mother Shub's Spiced Lait au Chevre, Mother Shub's Toothsome Banketstaaf, Black Rose

New Orleans - Reminiscent of hothouse blooms on a humid night, ripe, but touched with decay. Sweet honeysuckle and jasmine with a hint of lemon and spice.

Pretty, but ugh, no thanks. Waaay too much for me. I don't smell jasmine and honeysuckle so much as magnolia blossom, for some reason. Colorwise, creamy white.

****
Athens - A reformulation and modernization of a true Classical Greek perfume, myrrhine: voluptuous myrrh, golden honey, red wine, and sweet flowers.

Smells like nothing but cheap red wine on me. Color - burgundy.

****
Blood Amber - Slivers of warm, pulsating blood forever crystallized in golden amber resin.

Nice, but I think it's a little simple for me. It's dragon's blood and amber and that's it. Color - amber red

****
Mother Shub's Spiced Lait au Chevre - Nothing warms the cockles like a mug of Mother Shub's egg nog! Goat's milk egg nog with coffee liqueur and spices imported from the Crimson Desert!

Nice in the vial, but on me - booze and sour milk. No, thank you. Color association is coffee with cream.

****
Mother Shub's Toothsome Banketstaaf - A treat sure to please even the most finicky cultist! Tubular pastries oozing with spijs, glazed with apricot jam, and dotted with glace cherries.

*gag* Butter pastry and boozy fruit. No, thank you. Color - golden brown.

****
Black Rose - Exquisitely melancholy. The background scent to an ancient exequies. Heavy, dark and floral: a blend of roses, with a touch of amber and musk.

*gag again* I have now established that roses do not like me. They amp to the point of drowning everything else out. Color, dried rose red.
